Modular Switches (Current Standard)
Modular switches are the current standard in India. They consist of individual modules (switch, socket, dimmer, etc.) that snap into a grid plate, then covered by a front plate. Benefits: customizable configuration, compact, modern design, easy replacement of individual modules.
Classic/Piano Switches (Legacy)
Old-style larger switches still found in older buildings. Being phased out in new construction. Not recommended for new installations.
Smart/WiFi Switches
Internet-connected switches controllable via smartphone app, voice assistants (Alexa, Google), and automation routines. Available from Legrand, Anchor, Havells, Goldmedal, and third-party brands.
